Zoos and Theme Parks in Cologne
Have an unforgettable summer day or an enchanting winter experience along with the whole family at one of Germany’s oldest and most popular theme parks. Phantasialand in Brühl opened its doors on 30th April 1967. Since then, the park has continually offered new attractions and professional shows that have attracted international attention and received many awards.
A trip to the zoo is always a fun outing for the whole family. Cologne’s zoo, opened in 1860, is home to over 10,000 animals of more than 800 species.
Highlights of the zoo are the rain forest hall with free-ranging birds and reptiles, a large elephant park, the monkey house, and - the latest attraction - the new Hippodrom.
Here you can explore a silver mine in the Wild West, experience the unique special effects of a river rushing through canyons filled with spray or take a journey through awe-inspiring distant galaxies. For the ultimate rush, you can ride thrilling roller coasters like the “Black Mamba”, “Winja’s Fear & Force”, “River Quest”, “Talocan” and “Mystery Castle”.
